DO NOT DELETE THE APP. All your chatting history will be gone!!
1. close whatsapp frm task bar below (call this out by quick double press Home button),
2. open whatsapp and exit (no need t do like step 1), repeat this 10times, yes count it!
3. repeat step 1.
4. open whatsapp again and wait for the app to load.
At least this worked for me. hope it works!!

Hi all, you're most welcomed! really hope to help more people who is suffering the issue... For those whose whatsapp is still "sick", maybe you guys really have to wait for WhatsApp's official team to resolve the issue! or maybe try, iPhone hard reset? try to open and exit the app longer/shorter? Sorry i really have no idea...
I'm a econs fresh grad with minimal IT knowledge.
any one wanna hire me??? hahahha

For those of you still facing problem, it may be useful to read Evelyn's instruction again and follow it closely.
Step 1: For the first step, you need to SHUT DOWN the app. This means to double-click the Home button and launch the task bar before shutting down the Whatsapp application by tapping on the red minus sign.
Step 2: After that, re-launch the Whatsapp application (it should still be stuck on the blank screen) but this time, EXIT the app (while still at the blank screen) by clicking the Home button ONCE.
Step 3: Now, double-click the Home button and SHUT DOWN the Whatsapp application again (by tapping on the red minus sign).
Step 4: Repeat these steps again as described by Evelyn and after a few times, your Whatsapp should be revived. The "tricky" part is at Step 2, where you have to EXIT whatsapp while it is still at the blank screen. If you wait till the Whatsapp crashes out before you SHUT DOWN, the problem will not go away.
Spent a good part of my evening yesterday doing it the wrong way before stumbling onto Evelyn's blog post. :)Hope this helps. And kudos to Evelyn for the initial fix.
